COURSE DESCRIPTION
The adult swim program offers group instruction for adults ages 18 and up. It typically consists of seven 30-minute lessons. Classes are broken down into three levels to cover a variety of swimming abilities for those that are starting with the basics to those looking to improve their training and endurance.

LESSON FEES

LEVELS
Beginner (
For adults with little or no experience in the water)
- Description: Primary Skills and Stroke Readiness
- Purpose: To help students feel comfortable in the water and learn essential elementary aquatic skills. Skills taught include water adjustment, front and back float, and introduction to freestyle and backstroke.
Intermediate (
For adults who are comfortable in the water and are looking to learn proper stroke techniques)
- Description:Â Stroke Development
- Purpose: To develop confidence in strokes and to increase endurance. Skills taught include freestyle, backstroke, elementary backstroke, and introduction to breaststroke.
Advanced (
For adults looking to perfect their technique to increase speed and endurance)
- Description:Â Stroke Refinement and Skill Proficiency
- Purpose: To coordinate and refine key strokes; to polish strokes for better endurance. Skills taught include endurance training for freestyle and backstroke, refining breaststroke, and introduction to sidestroke and butterfly.  Â
CLASS LOCATION
Classes are held on the Evanston campus at theÂ
Norris Aquatics Center located at 2311 Campus Drive.Â
Click here for directions. Parking is available in the north campus garage, which is attached to the Norris Aquatics Center. Take elevator "A" to the first floor to reach the entrance of the facility. Parking is free on weekends and after 4p on weekdays.
The Norris Aquatics Center features a 25-yard x 50-meter pool which is home to the Northwestern Varsity Swimming and Diving teams. The water temperature is kept at a cool 80 degrees. Water depth ranges from 4 feet to 15 feet.
Participants will meet on the pool bleachers before class.

INSTRUCTORSÂ
The majority of our instructors are Northwestern students who are American Red Cross certified instructors, have experience teaching swim lessons or are accomplished swimmers themselves.
