Policies | General Building Use
1. There are inherent risks associated with physical activity. Consult your health-care provider before engaging in any physical activity or exercise program.
2. Proper and valid identification (Wildcard, state ID) is required to gain access to any Northwestern Recreation facilities. All trespassers are subject to ejection and prosecution.
3. Individuals involved in strenuous activity should carry appropriate identification in case of emergency.
4. Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
5. Anyone caught stealing or damaging personal or University property will be immediately ejected,
be prosecuted to the full extent of the law, and forfeit any fees.
6. Prior written permission must be obtained from Northwestern Recreation before posting flyers or displaying promotional items.
Flyers may be posted in designated areas only.
7. Proper footwear must be worn at all times. Patrons are asked to change into a separate, clean pair of shoes for indoor use.
8. Bicycles, skateboards, in-line skates, scooters, etc., are not permitted in any Northwestern Recreation facility.
9. Hang coats and other excess clothing in lockers or hooks.
10. Items left in lost and found and expired permanent locker is held for 30 days then donated to charity.
11. The Northwestern Recreation Department is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
12. Food is not allowed in any activity area. Water and sports drinks are the only beverages permitted in activity areas.
13. Refrain from spitting in the drinking fountains.
14. Cursing, yelling or abusive behavior to individuals or facilities will not be permitted. Violators will be asked to leave the facility immediately and may be billed for damages.
15. With the exception of service animals, no animals or pets are permitted in any Northwestern Recreation facility.
16. Children four years and younger may use the locker room of the opposite sex. Family changing areas are also available to use.
17. Report all injuries to the Northwestern Recreation facility staff on duty.
18. Only authorized Athletics and Recreation staff is allowed to provide personal or private training services.
19. Photography and filming in any Northwestern Recreation facility requires prior permission from the Northwestern Recreation operations or marketing office.
20. All patrons must leave facility promptly at facility closing time. Please plan your workouts accordingly.
21. Northwestern trained, and qualified Recreation staff may prohibit activities deemed unsafe.
22. Failure to comply with any of the policies may result in temporary or permanent loss of entrance privileges.
