  1. Track direction changes; follow signs for appropriate daily direction.
     
  2. Be aware of oncoming traffic when entering the track.
     
  3. Keep slower activity to the outside lanes of the track.
     
  4. A runner should say, “Passing on your left (or right),” and look behind to make sure no other runners are coming before passing.
     
  5. Stretching or warm-up exercises are to be performed in the stretching room or designated stretching area on the southwest side of the track. Don’t use the track railing for stretching.
     
  6. Running or walking side by side is permitted only when the track is not busy.
     
  7. Don’t stand in or block any lanes of the track.
     
  8. Shooting basketballs from the track level is prohibited.
     
  9. Be aware of patrons entering and exiting the exercise equipment area.
     
  10. Strollers are not permitted on the track.
     
  11. Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied and directly supervised by an adult when using the track.
     
  12. In the event of accident or injury, immediately contact the Northwestern Recreation Department staff for first aid and medical attention.
     
  13. Do not apply tape or other markings to the track surface.

  • Inside Lane = 161 Yards / 148 Meters
  • Middle Lane = 166 Yards / 152 Meters
  • Outside Lane = 172 Yards / 157 Meters
