FOOTBALL GAMEDAY RECREATION UPDATES

Due to our proximity to Northwestern Medicine Field at Martin Stadium, we will be adjusting our operations for select home football games this season. The Henry Crown Sports Pavilion—including the Norris Aquatics Center, Combe Tennis Center, Membership Office, and Wellness Suite—will be closed all day for the five games listed below due to gameday activities and anticipated heavy traffic.
 
Blomquist Recreation Center will remain open with an adjusted schedule, providing an on-campus recreational option for Northwestern students, faculty, staff, and members. We are also partnering with McGaw YMCA on select games (see below) to offer pool access at no additional cost.
 
Further information regarding additional operational and programmatic modifications is provided in the sections below. We encourage you to review the information thoroughly. We will continue to provide updates throughout the season as they become available.

MCGAW YMCA POOL ACCESS

Northwestern students and Henry Crown Sports Pavilion members will be able to access the McGaw YMCA pool on select game days. Reservations are required – email reservations@mcgawymca.org or call 847-475-7400 (option 1). Please bring your HCSP membership card or Wildcard for check-in.
 
Access is available on the following days:
  • Saturday, September 27 | 1:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.

  • Saturday, October 4 | 1:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.

  • Saturday, October 18 | 1:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.
*McGaw YMCA hours are subject to change.
 

PARKING

The Northwestern Parking Office will close some campus parking lots, including the North Parking Garage, the night before each game. The North Garage will close at 10 p.m. the night before each gameday and reopen approximately three hours after the conclusion of each game.

Users who choose to utilize Blomquist Recreation Center may use the parking lots near the Foster-Walker Complex* or look for street parking.

*University parking permits are required in the Foster-Walker Complex lots (235, 238, 237, 236, and 234) Monday–Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Please follow all posted parking signs and restrictions.
 

ADDITIONAL MODIFICATIONS

GROUP EXERCISE 
All Group Exercise classes will be canceled on gamedays.

MASSAGE SERVICES
Massage appointments will not be available on closure dates.
 
PERSONAL TRAINING
Personal Training clients should work with their trainer to reschedule sessions as needed.
 
NORTHWESTERN SAILING CENTER
The Sailing Center will continue to operate normal hours through October 5, weather permitting. The South Campus parking garage and Lakeside parking structure will be unavailable due to gameday activities.
 
COMBE TENNIS COURTS
Court #1 will be closed periodically for gameday setup. Courts 2-6 remain available for drop-in play, and permanent court reservations will be scheduled around gameday closures.

CLUB SPORTS & INTRAMURALS
There are no anticipated impacts on Intramural Sports programs related to gamedays. Club Sport programs will receive communications from Cait Carney as needed.
