ILLINOIS LICENSED MASSAGE THERAPIST
After many years in non-profit and art administration, Yaron returned to the Cortiva Institute of Massage Therapy, where he pursued a life-long dream of studying massage therapy. Yaron’s passion for massage therapy dates back to his undergraduate years, when he participated in a community-based massage therapy workshop, and realized that through massage, we have the opportunity to reconnect with ourselves, reduce stress, re-energize, and re-focus.
Yaron brings to his clients a passion for healing and commitment, to customize each session to fit individual needs, often combining a clinical approach with relaxation massage. He is skilled in Swedish, deep tissue, clinical work (including trigger point therapy) myofascial release, and has additional training in geriatric massage. Yaron believes what differentiates a ‘good’ session from a 'great' session is open and honest communication between the client and therapist.Â
Â
In his previous career, Yaron was a development professional, experienced in raising funds for environmental and social services organizations, throughout the Midwest and abroad. Yaron has a master’s degree in Art’s Administration from Columbia University in New York, as well as experience managing a community based art gallery. In his spare time, Yaron enjoys biking with his family and walking their Beagle-Hound along Lake Michigan.
Why Did You Become a Massage Therapist?
"Massage therapy is a second career for me, although my interest in massage dates back some years. As an undergraduate student I participated in an intensive massage workshop. Through the workshop, I came to appreciate the benefits of massage. At that point and throughout my career, I have seen that many live with unacceptably high-levels of stress and physical discomfort. However, through massage we have an opportunity to reconnect with ourselves, reduce stress, as well as address injuries and discomfort associated with illness."
What Motivates You?Â
"Listening to both the physical and/or emotional reasons that bring clients to schedule a massage allows me to experience tremendous gratitude through addressing the clients' needs."
What is the Most Rewarding Part?
"Having a client appreciate my work and letting me know when I have assisted their needs through a session or by activity suggestions I recommend to extend healing benefits of their session."
What is your Most Memorable Moment?
"IÂ have recently worked with a cancer survivor who has limited range-of-motion, as a result of radiation. Through on-going sessions, she has increased her range-of-motion. Seeing her joy has been an amazing experience."
