Northwestern Beach resumes summer operations beginning
Monday, July 13, with
limited hours (weather permitting). The beach is located to the north of the
Henry Crown Sports Pavilion, and just to the east of the North Campus Garage entrance.
Daily hours of operation are 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. (weather permitting). Hours may be extended when possible. Access is free to current Northwestern University students and members of the Henry Crown Sports Pavilion (even if your membership is suspended due our current closure). Daily admission is $8 for adults and $6 for children age 1-11. Daily passes are available by credit card payment only. Cash payments are not available.
To provide a safe and healthy experience for the entire Northwestern community, please review the following COVID-19 protocol prior to visiting Northwestern Beach.
- Face coverings must be worn when entering the beach, interacting with staff, and when not in the water.
- Anyone coming on to the beach will need to have their temperature taken by the beach staff. Anyone with a 100.4° temperature or higher will not be allowed on the beach.
- Anyone with the following symptoms should not come to the beach:
- Cough
- Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
- Fever
- Chills
- Repeated shaking with chills
- Muscle pain
- Headache
- Sore throat
- New loss of taste or smell
- The beach will have a capacity of 200 people.
- No groups of more than 50 people.
- Patrons must maintain a six-foot distance from those outside of their household.
- Wash your hands often using soap and water for 20 seconds.
