As part of our continued efforts to improve the user experience, the Norris Aquatics Center will undergo repairs and maintenance later this summer. The scope of this work includes tile maintenance and extensive bulkhead repairs. While we are excited to move forward with these efforts, the aquatics center will close beginning the afternoon of Thursday, July 31. Following the successful completion of the scheduled maintenance, we plan to reopen ahead of the fall quarter.

We understand the pool's role in many of our users' fitness and wellness routines and the disruption this maintenance project causes. In response, from July 31 to August 7, Northwestern students and Henry Crown Sports Pavilion members are welcome to utilize the McGaw YMCA pool (see below) as a no-cost alternative. Additionally, members have the option to pause their membership for the month of August. Those who would like to opt into this option must contact our Membership Office directly (see below).

MCGAW YMCA ACCESS | JULY 31 – AUGUST 7
Students and members planning to utilize the McGaw YMCA pool must check in with their HCSP membership card or Wildcard for each visit, as well as make a reservation by emailing reservations@mcgawymca.org or calling 847-475-7400 (select option 1).

SUSPENDING YOUR MEMBERSHIP
Members who wish to opt into a one-month membership pause must complete the following steps:

Annual Memberships

• Send an email to recreation@northwestern.edu with the subject line: Pool Closure Membership Extension
• In the email, include your name, address, phone number, and employee number (if applicable)
• NOTE: Your access to Henry Crown will be paused from August 1 – September 1, 2025, and your membership end date will be extended by one month.

Monthly Memberships

• Complete our Monthly Billing – Stop Payment Form by July 15, 2025
• NOTE: Your last day to access the Henry Crown Sports Pavilion will be July 31.

To reactivate your monthly membership and avoid the $35 restart fee, you will need to complete the following by September 15, 2025:

• Complete our Monthly Billing Agreement form
• In the body of your email, please indicate that you canceled due to the pool closure.
• Attach your completed billing agreement and email it to recreation@northwestern.edu with the subject line: Return from Pool Closure
