Job Description

The Business Operations Coordinator reports to the Business Office Manager and assists with financial and business operations in support of the Department of Athletics and Recreation mission.
 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Reconcile and report daily revenue in accordance with University financial policies and procedures. 
  • Assist with prompt payment of invoices, research errors and delayed transactions and respond accordingly.
  • Process and submit departmental purchase order requests, vendor and contracted services payments, reimbursements, and other accounting transactions; research and follow up appropriately as problems arise.
  • Become proficient in the use of Innosoft Fusion for daily, monthly, and annual reconciliation and reporting.
  • Assist with managing the day-to-day operations of the Administrative Office (purchase, stock, and inventory supplies for the office, etc.).
  • Assists with fiscal year beginning and end activities for a smooth transaction. 
  • Review and reconcile expenses and revenue on a monthly basis. Correct errors as needed.
  • Maintain physical and e-file system for the Business Office, including payroll, expense reports, purchase orders, reimbursements and other financial documentation in accordance with University policy for records retention.
  • Perform other work as assigned.


Qualifications

  • Successful completion of a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree; OR appropriate combination of education and experience.
  • Prior experience handling money, credit card data and confidential information.
  • At least two years of administrative experience in the area of cash handling, budgets, finance, or related areas.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word and Excel).
  • General computer knowledge and the ability to quickly learn new applications.
  • Ability to successfully handle a variety of tasks, prioritize, and complete an often heavy workload.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting concepts.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work independently.
  • Must be able to demonstrate initiative and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical skills are a plus.
